A Taste of Thunder in the Emirates

It rarely rains in the UAE. If it does, its only mild and just for a few minutes. Today is different. Its strong and there is a sound of thunder also.

Our site office took a shower inside and outside. Buildings here are not designed for rain since the beginning so today our caravans leaked of rainwater everywhere. Its fun watching the dripping ceiling and the wet floors and its a joy to hear the beating of the raindrops outside. The people are very happy to get wet. We were sent home early.

Back home in the Philippines we also used to place a lot of 'timba' (buckets) all over the house to catch the rainwater falling from the holes of our roof and ceiling.

It feels very clean & peaceful after the rain, so we enjoyed taking photos in front of our site office also hihi!
Since we do not have work in the afternoon, with my colleagues we decided to spend our time in the movies.
There is a new cinema in Al Wahda Mall. It is huge and comfortable. Movies in UAE costs only 30 dirhams.
There is a long line of kids in the movie counter....maybe because the movie is nice..we also felt like kids.

All over UAE, heavy rain is not normal and the roads were flooded....
