Qasr al Hosn: The Story of Abu Dhabi and its People

(February 20-March 01, 2014)
This Exhibition tells the story of Abu Dhabi and its people through its most iconic building: Qasr al Hosn - the oldest and most treasured building in city going back to Abu Dhabi's origins.

It is the first celebration and will be done annually from this year onwards.
The Qasr al Hosn is located in corner Hamdan Street - Airport Road just opposite Marks & Spencer shopping mall.
It is a huge preserved area in the middle of the city. Once you enter in the fort, it feels like you time traveled back to the ancient time. The ground is left without pavements, you walk directly on the desert sand, the walls are made up of palm leaves, there are camels and tents and old sheds.
It shows the life of the people back in the old days circa 1950's.
Based on my experience inside the fort, the place smells old, it sounds ancient and most of all the local people lets you feel very welcome to their home country.
Long live, UAE!
